An invitation to explore this way of practicing self-care

Why is it always about an invitation and not an obligation?

The intention is never to put more pressure on a situation than it already has. The methods shared are always suggestions to be used when we feel ready to integrate them into our lives. It's normal that not all tools will inspire you. Everyone has a different story, which is why we all put together our own toolkit according to the color we choose to give it.

Quite simply, meeting one's needs - whether they are social or offering oneself three meals a day - is a method that fits well with the definition of taking care of oneself. This is what allows us to be more available or have the energy to handle new situations. When we are used to playing a caregiving role for others, we may feel selfish when taking action for ourselves. Those around us may also judge these actions negatively. Therefore, attempting to care for oneself despite possible judgment from others is a very courageous act.
