Bereavement Support Service

Moving on after caregiving

Post-caregiving is the period during which a caregiver experiences grief associated with caregiving. GASO defines it as follows: grief in post-caregiving differs from other types of grief, particularly because of the emotional bond shared with the deceased person, the caregiver's loss of identity, and the transition following the loss of the caregiver role.

But how do you move forward when your role as a caregiver ends? This is where GASO steps in. The individual grief support we provide offers a safe and compassionate space to navigate post-caregiving grief.

Please note: Bereavement support is available to grieving caregivers who received support from GASO during their caregiving journey and for up to one year after the passing of their loved one.

This support allows caregivers to:

Meditation service

Guided introspection

Our individual meditation sessions are moments for yourself where you will be accompanied by personalized guidance tailored to your needs. Guidance is the assistance provided by a consultant during a guided meditation. These sessions help participants to refocus, relax, and deepen their meditative experience using various techniques.

These sessions provide a safe space to explore emotions and allow oneself a break from the turmoil that stress can cause. Depending on the need identified with the meditation consultant during your first meeting, several exercises will be offered, such as breathing techniques, self-compassion exercises, or visualization.

These sessions are for those who wish to:

Develop self-compassion (be kinder to yourself)
